When it comes to the success of your IT projects, the odds are definitely against you. Fifty percent of businesses had an IT project fail last year, and a recent study by The Standish Group revealed that 31% of IT projects are cancelled before being completed. Why are so many IT jobs getting cut? In 94 out of every 100 projects that were studied, having to restart a job was discovered as the number one reason why an IT project was ultimately cancelled. But what if you never had to cancel another work order or lose out on business ever again? With Field Nation’s new On-Hold feature, you don’t have to.
On-Hold capabilities offer users a simple solution to combat the cold, hard truths of the industry and help ensure that your next project is a success. Service buyers and/or project managers now have the ability to mark a job as “On-Hold” when common issues arise, like a shipment delay or a schedule or site change. Instead of having to cancel a project, On-Hold allows for the preservation of a job and saves work that may have already been completed. Work orders that optimize On-Hold have contributed to a 50% decrease in work order cancellations.
Integrated notifications automatically alert any assigned contractor(s) and includes clarification into the reason for the change in job status. Confirmation is required from the service provider, which helps improve the visibility and awareness of the work order while also preventing any on-site appearances in the absence of work. Once accepted, reminder emails will cease and the ability to log any additional work (like check-in/out, close out, etc.) will be disabled for the duration of the On-Hold period. Service providers will continue to be able to accept jobs, however, ensuring the opportunity for continued revenue.
At-a-glance status coloring offers immediate understanding into which jobs are On-Hold and is reflected on the dashboard, as well as the Status and Progress Bar for that work order. Users can easily organize their dashboard by status to get a breakdown of all work that is On-Hold and why.
Once a job is removed from On-Hold status, a second notification is sent containing an updated assignment and estimated schedule. Re-confirmation is required so that communication is guaranteed between all stakeholders and the project can successfully progress.
Field Nation’s number one priority is helping users get work done. For the people giving the work, On-Hold means never having to miss out on business opportunities or cancel work ever again, and for those doing the work, it means that job changes or delays no longer results in lost revenue or wasted time. In an industry where a project is highly likely to fail, Field Nation is working to give you not only a better chance of success, but the best chance.
See for yourself how On-Hold can help your next project overcome the odds and be a success!
